COMBINED - African Explorer
The African Explorer is probably one of the most varied African safaris, as it goes to two countries in one trip and covers a lot of different topography and terrain. The South African bushveld is soft going for the horses, with wonderful sandy tracks to canter along and beautiful blue dams to swim with your horse.
In Botswana their is an ancient landscape of rock formations, and open plains dotted with giant Baobab tree and riverine bush. This place feels very wild and will definitely get your adrenaline flowing.
THE MOST VARIED TOPOGRAPHY ON A RIDING SAFARI ANYWHERE IN AFRICA
A riding safari visiting two countries: combines four nights in South Africa with three nights in Botswana. For experienced and over 12 year old riders only. Set dates throughout the year. Great value for the week safari and discount for a group of eight.
The accommodation for the African Explorer safari is in luxury tents on decks, with en suite bathrooms. Exprience four nights at Camp Davidson in South Africa, followed by three nights at Two Mashatus camp in Botswana:
CAMP DAVIDSON was modeled on the old 'outspan' camps of the 1900s when EA Davidson was selling goods across the area from his wagon. It is nestled within the rocky outcrops and holds a few beautiful surprise decks where lunch may be served.
TWO MASHATUS CAMP is nestled in the shade of a Mashatu tree. Two traditionally built Lala palm rondavels serve as dining area and lounge. Accommodation is in large A frame tents pitched on teak platforms, with en-suite bathrooms. Each tent is private and positioned in the shade of a tree with a small deck area on which to relax during the afternoons.
